Growing up with TJ Campbell

Hey guys, It’s your girl TJC here and today I have some good news and bad news. The bad news is that I have to get four of my teeth extracted, this is because I have too many teeth in my mouth 😩.  So after I get my teeth extracted I am going to have braces fitted. I will have my retainers fitted on the 4 th of March 2019.   I have been on the waiting list for a very long time - about two years, so I’m happy to get the process started.  The good news is that my school has given me a Spring challenge. It’s a bunch of activities that have to be completed by the Easter half term break. We get to choose three activities. I will talk you through the three that I have chosen.  The three that I will be doing are: read an autobiography about someone who inspires me, the second one is to cook an entire meal for the family and the third one is to take some clothes to a clothes bank.                                                       At last the Christmas holidays are finally here. My school broke up a week before most schools so I got 3 weeks off. YIPEE!!! I have now completed all my Christmas shopping.  My Aunty Kizzy came from London to spend the Christmas holiday with us.  On Christmas Eve we made a gingerbread house that she had brought. For my Christmas dinner, I had turkey, beef, mash potatoes and purple cabbage. It was delicious and as for the drinks they were refreshing. For dessert, I had some of the gingerbread house that my aunt and I had made (or at least decorated).  It tasted almost as good as it looked!  My uncle and cousins came round to see us in the evening; this was great because I don’t get to see them that often.  We tried playing a game of hide and seek upstairs – not the best idea! Wow, what a week I’ve had. On Sunday the 28th of October, I left England for a holiday to Dubai. My mother, God Mother, God sister – Maya and my aunty, all met at Heathrow Airport, we were due to fly from Heathrow with Emirates airline all the way to Dubai! It was a seven-hour flight and Emirates are a fabulous airline.  https://www.emirates.com The food was great, the movies were great, the staff were very friendly and the female flight attendants wore a very interesting looking hat. My mom said it was one of the best flights she’s ever been on. We finally landed in Dubai, once we cleared customers and collected our luggage we made our way outside and boy was it hot, yay! Hey guys Here's a quick update on what I've been up to. On Wednesday Sam called, you know the guy from CBBC.  Sam and another producer skyped me and my mum.  We went over my application they asked loads of questions and tested me on my knowledge of CBBC TV shows and celebrities. I did pretty well and got most of the questions right, so let's wait and see what happens next. On Friday I went back to Makerlab.  This week I drew sketches of trophies, which I will eventually create.  I used a Mac computer to make my sketches 3D and polish the sketches up a bit. During the next sessions I will add a background to my sketch.  It's a long process but, a very interesting one. I was given information about a website to look at called Fusion 360, which is similar to what I used during the session. Once I’ve had a good look at the Fusion 360 website I will fill you in. During the summer holidays I applied to CBBC to be part of a game show called remotely funny. Guess what guys? Today I received a phone call from Sam at CBBC. I might be part of the TV show Remotely Funny! Sam spoke to me about what I had written on my application form. He asked me loads of questions about my hobbies, interest and family,so that he could find out a bit more about me and my personality. I was so excited and really enjoyed talking to Sam. Sam spoke to my mum after our conversation and told her he liked my personality and that he would Skype me next Wednesday, so that he could put a face to the person he had spoken to and get to know me even better. I know it's been a while but I've been busy settling into high school. Guess what guys? I've finally collected my grade one certificate. Hard work and dedication = Distinction! I've started guitar lessons at school with a guy called Tom, so far so good, hopefully, I'm on my way to a grade 2 distinction next year.  As long as I continue to practise, practise, practise as my mum keeps telling me.
