congratulations

I know it's been a while but I've been busy settling into high school.
Guess what guys? I've finally collected my grade one certificate.
Hard work and dedication = Distinction!

I've started guitar lessons at school with a guy called Tom, so far so good, hopefully, I'm on my way to a grade 2 distinction next year.  As long as I continue to practise, practise, practise as my mum keeps telling me.

On Thursday my mom and I went to The Beefeater on Hagley Road https://www.beefeater.co.uk/steak-restaurant/West-Midlands/Duck-Edgbaston.html
I was so hungry I FORGOT to take a picture but here's a little photo of my plate, when I remembered to take a picture.
I had a chicken burger, chips and corn on the cob, which was delicious and for dessert, I had pancakes, sorry again, but it was so yummy I forgot to take a picture.

On Friday I went to the Midlands Arts Centre in Edgbaston  https://macbirmingham.co.uk/courses I was there to take part in a six-week Young Inventors course run by James Hannan from Maker Lab.  During the course, I will be learning to invent, design, build and code. I will definitely keep you posted with all my new inventions.  This week we used something called a vacuum sucker to make pots using potatoes and plastic, I know it sounds strange but it was loads of fun.

Speak to you soon

Dubai!!

Wow, what a week I’ve had. On Sunday the 28th of October, I left England for a holiday to Dubai. My mother, God Mother, God sister – Maya and my aunty, all met at Heathrow Airport, we were due to fly from Heathrow with Emirates airline all the way to Dubai! It was a seven-hour flight and Emirates are a fabulous airline.  https://www.emirates.com The food was great, the movies were great, the staff were very friendly and the female flight attendants wore a very interesting looking hat. My mom said it was one of the best flights she’s ever been on. We finally landed in Dubai, once we cleared customers and collected our luggage we made our way outside and boy was it hot, yay! We got a taxi to our hotel, we were staying in the Rove Hotel Downtown.  https://www.rovehotels.com/hotel/rove-downtown/ The hotel was really nice and modern. We settled in our rooms, unpacked some of our things and went across the road to explore the Dubai Mall. The mall was huge, we had a quick l

Happy Christmas!

At last the Christmas holidays are finally here. My school broke up a week before most schools so I got 3 weeks off. YIPEE!!! I have now completed all my Christmas shopping.  My Aunty Kizzy came from London to spend the Christmas holiday with us.  On Christmas Eve we made a gingerbread house that she had brought. For my Christmas dinner, I had turkey, beef, mash potatoes and purple cabbage. It was delicious and as for the drinks they were refreshing. For dessert, I had some of the gingerbread house that my aunt and I had made (or at least decorated).  It tasted almost as good as it looked!  My uncle and cousins came round to see us in the evening; this was great because I don’t get to see them that often.  We tried playing a game of hide and seek upstairs – not the best idea! After a great Christmas day and evening, I ended up going to bed really late. As for presents, my mom got me some clothes and folders to help me or

Competition time!

On Sunday 26 of August, I went to the Dell stadium to compete in an athletic competition. My events were high jump and the 100m sprint. This was the first time I had done high jump in a competition, ever!  I managed to jump  1metre 20, not bad for a first attempt.  Moving on to the 100 m sprint, I have competed in many sprints, so I was looking forward to this event.  I got off to a good start but for some annoying reason I slowed down, so this wasn't my best race. My personal best in the 100 metres so far is 15.56 seconds, which I ran at Tipton on August 17th 2018. With determination and practice, I'm hoping to run 100 metres in 15 seconds within the next few months. Speak soon TJC
